Course Objectives: 

To introduce students to methodologies used to assess societal impacts as well as economic impacts in a sustainability context.

This course will present various methodologies including: Social LCA, Sustainability LCA, Life Cycle Costing, Ecosystem services valuation, Full Cost Accounting, Total Cost Accounting, Multicriteria Decision Analysis and Sustainability Return on Investment. As a group, we will explore the various methodologies, their strengths and weaknesses and learn how each is best used. Additionally we will expose the gaps in analysis techniques and show you how those gaps might be filled. At the end of the course, you will have a basic understanding of the different methodologies and how to apply them accordingly.
