Course Objectives: 

To give students an understanding of how to correctly build and model product stages in the SimaPro LCA software.

Take this course to learn the how to quickly and easily build life cycles and accurately represent the end of life of products in your LCA. This course will give you hands on experience in SimaPro by building a Life Cycle of a returnable bottle. Your instructor will be an experienced LCA/SimaPro professional.

Why Take This Course: 

Product stages are a unique feature of SimaPro that allow you define a product by assemblies and subassemblies and by the way it is used and disposed of. They allow you to quickly link multiple product life cycles together. To use product stages accurately you need to understand how they are calculating and how they are routing assemblies and waste types through disposal scenarios and waste scenarios. Take this course to learn the basics of how to build accurate product stages in SimaPro.

Prerequisites: 

Students must have either previously taken our LCA in SimaPro online or onsite courses or have a working knowledge of conducting LCAs within SimaPro.

Organization: 

The class will meet online at www.gotomeeting.com. You will be provided with an invitation and password a couple days before the class. The best set up for taking the class is to have one computer to view the slides and one computer set up with SimaPro to follow along and gain hands on experience. If you would like to take the class but do not have access to the software, we will provide you with a temporary license. Before the class you will receive a print-out of the presentation slides, which you can use for note taking during the class. These prove to be a great help when conducting your future LCA’s.
