SimaPro Educational Versions
We are all aware that education is the key to a sustainable future. EarthShift and PRe partners support this initiative by offering SimaPro educational software, which not only provide institutions with fully functioning LCA tools at a fraction of the cost, but also assist in the learning and teaching process for students and professors.
Educational licenses include:
- an extensive database collection including ecoinvent
- all major impact assessment methods
- built in project examples
- manuals and tutorials to guide education
For educational use, SimaPro is available in 3 versions: the multi user Classroom version, the Faculty or campus license plus the advanced PhD version.
Educational versions may only be used by academic institutes for teaching purposes and can not be used for commercial activities including paid research. You can simply upgrade an educational license to a professional license.
SimaPro is flexible: if you want a different version, you can simply switch without loss of data.

SimaPro Classroom
The SimaPro multi user version is a client server network version for up to 40 users. All students work in the same database, and can cooperate within the same project. Passwords and user rights are simply created using our User creation wizard. By logging in as manager, the lecturer can simply follow the progress of his or her students.The functionality of this educational version is comparable with the SimaPro Compact. The SimaPro Classroom version is available as indefinite license or temporary license for 12 months.
SimaPro Faculty
The SimaPro stand alone version that you can distribute to all students in your faculty or department. The functionality of this educational version is comparable with the SimaPro Compact.The SimaPro Faculty license is only available as a temporary license for 12 months. After expiration, the software will run as demo version. Data in the database are kept as they were. Reregistering with a new code will revive the software.
SimaPro PhD
The advanced single user version for detailed analysis of LCA results. Apart from the normal functionality, you can apply Monte Carlo analysis, analyze results in greater details and use the process tree window. The PhD version also supports parameterized modeling and scenario analysis.
The functionality of this educational version is comparable with the SimaPro Analyst. The SimaPro PhD version is available as indefinite license or temporary license for 12 months.
