Assessment of Products". Nowadays it is not only used
for product assessment; its generic setup means use has expanded to analysis
of processes and services.
First released in 1990, SimaPro is a proven, reliable and flexible tool used by major industries, consultancies and universities. With nearly thousand user licenses sold in 50 countries, SimaPro continues to be the most successful LCA software worldwide.

The SimaPro 7 family
The SimaPro family allows you to implement Lifecycle Assessment in a flexible way. SimaPro can grow with the increasing importance of LCA in your organization.
SimaPro comes in the following professional versions, that are available in a single user (stand alone) or multi user network version, which is ideal for project teams. With the SimaPro demo you can experience the different versions yourself.
SimaPro Compact for quick results
If ease of use, quick learning and an intelligent design are your main criteria, choose the Compact version. It is built for reliable results with limited effort. Powerful Wizards assist you managing complex tasks, while all results remain completely transparent.
SimaPro Analyst for detailed LCA studies
If advanced features, transparency and flexibility are your main criteria, choose the Analyst version. It is built for the LCA expert that wants to assess every detail of the LCA he/she is making. It comes with advanced analytical features including Monte Carlo analysis.
SimaPro Developer to create dedicated LCA tools
If you are a consultant, or for instance an industry association and want to develop simplified tools for your clients or members, choose the Developer. It has the same features as the SimaPro Analyst but is extended with Wizard writing options and COM interface.

Note that all new indefinite licenses come with a free one year service contract, which gives you access to software and database updates as well as our helpdesk.
For educational use we offer special versions at reduced prices.
Temporary licenses
SimaPro can be purchased as indefinite license or as a temporary license. A temporary license is an ideal solution if:
- You want to test SimaPro before purchasing an indefinite license, or want to run a first LCA project and investigate if it is a useful tool.
- You need temporary expansion of the capacity to run a complex LCA project. This is especially useful with a multi-user version.
- You want a temporary upgrade to a higher version (for example the Developer version, to develop Wizards)
After expiration of a temporary license the software will run in demo mode: you can still access and print your data, but no longer edit them.
Temporary licenses come with a service contract included.
Database
To get started with your LCA projects, SimaPro comes inclusive of several inventory databases with thousands of processes, plus the most important impact assessment methods. You do not have to spend time on collecting general data, and you can focus on the important issues of your study.
We are a reseller of the new ecoinvent database, an up to date database with 2500+ processes. This database is fully integrated in all professional versions!
Language support
The SimaPro software can be run in various languages. Current languages available are English US, English UK, Italian, Spanish, French, Danish, German and Dutch. More translations will become available over time.
Databases, help and manuals are only available in English and are not translated. A fully Japanese version of SimaPro is available through our Japanese partner Yamatake.
