| EarthShift
is dedicated to helping the earth. In many cases, solving today’s
environmental problems requires that we “get out of the box”
and think differently about what we do every day. We apply our broad-base
expertise in life cycle and total cost assessment (LCA and TCA), building
efficiency, and marketing to help businesses, non-profits, and consumers
get out of that box. We understand the needs of businesses and work within
the for-profit framework to help create solutions that meet the needs of
all stakeholders.
In particular, we support software that gives decision-makers another point of view. We provide consulting services in LCA and TCA. And we provide market research and other marketing services to companies and non-profits that are making a positive change in our environment—both our social environment and our physical environment. Established in 2000, EarthShift continues to grow and has recently added new software to our product offering, as well as expanded consulting services. We are always looking for new tools, methodologies, and services that can help us place a real value on what we take from the earth. Bios Lise Laurin Lise has held positions in the semiconductor and the electronics industry, and led a marketing services company for six years. Between an early position as an electronics technician and programmer and time spent as a process engineer for Intel manufacturing microprocessors, she has first-hand experience with nearly all phases of computer manufacturing. She applied much of that knowledge to twenty years of high tech marketing. Since founding EarthShift, she has turned her business understanding and communications skills to providing LCA and TCA services and training to both large and small companies. Lise helped to found the Eco-Team, a recycling club at
Marshwood, her local high school. She works with the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle
Initiative and the LCA into LEED Task Force. She holds a BS in Physics
from Yale University. Melissa Moore Hamilton Through Melissa’s training as an anthropologist and her work with organizational development and change, she has developed a rich understanding of business relationships and human nature, resulting in a unique perspective that makes her projects distinctive. She is skilled at identifying and crossing the barriers that arise in communications while facilitating the path toward the goal of sustainable practices for the client’s organization. Melissa sees EarthShift’s software tools and consulting services as a valuable aid in this transformation. Over the last nine years Melissa has been involved in various alternative building and renewable energy projects and has written articles on energy efficiency and non-toxic buildings for organizations such as Efficiency Vermont. Working collaboratively with green building and energy experts Melissa is positioning EarthShift as a valuable resource for building industry professionals desiring assistance to make their projects “green”. Since 1998 Melissa and her spouse Bret, an Energy Analyst and Building Scientist, have operated Hamilton & Associates, a research firm specializing in writing, marketing services and research serving the building communities and socially responsible organizations that support sustainable business practices. Melissa incorporates the specialties of this endeavor into the offerings of EarthShift. Melissa teaches basic life cycle assessment (LCA) and total cost assessment (TCA) courses as well as change management to organizations working to reduce their environmental impacts and improve their social accountability. She also develops materials and media covering best practices in LCA, TCA, Change Management, and Green construction. Melissa lives in a passive solar home that she built
with her husband. The home has a grid tied solar/battery backup system
and is equipped with high efficiency lighting and appliances. |
